Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Crossroads Youth and Family Services! Our volunteers play a vital role in creating a home and a safe space for the children that we serve. There are 3 Main Ways to volunteer.

*To work directly with children, volunteers must be 21 or older and fill out a background check and volunteer application.
Monthly Volunteer Opportunities
Crossroads provides project-based volunteer opportunities once a month for individuals or groups. Prior training and background checks are not required. Typical projects may include:

Organizing resource closets

Planting flowers and/or vegetables in our garden

Painting
-
Decorating for holidays throughout the year

Deep cleaning certain areas of our shelter

Volunteers Opportunities for High School Students
Crossroads also provides weekly volunteer opportunities for high school students Monday through Friday, anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM at our Main Street office. Prior training and background checks are not required. Typical projects may include:

Making Epic boxes​

Creating social media graphics

Doing research for new items for epic boxes, new items for our emergency resource center, etc.

Cleaning and organizing work rooms

Decorating for holidays throughout the year

Helping with administrative tasks when needed

If you are a high school student or parent of a high school student who is interested in volunteering with us during the week, fill out the form linked below.
Become a Mentor
Mentors are recurring volunteers that work directly with the children that stay at our emergency Youth Shelter. Crossroads always has a need for reliable and committed mentors that can connect with our kids and give assistance to our shelter staff when needed. We also encourage mentors to utilize any special skills they may like cooking, playing an instrument, sports, etc.!

To be a mentor you must be 21 years or older, fill out a background check and an application, and commit to 2 hours a week or one shelter outing a week.

Undergraduate Practicum Opportunities
Crossroads provides practicum opportunities for undergraduate students. Practicum students provide mentorship and guidance for the children that stay at our emergency youth shelter.
