This interactive community family event will be held on September 14, 2024, from 9:00-11:00AM at Elmore Thomas Park in Lawton, OK  and October 5, 2024 from 9:00- 11:00 AM at Ruby Grant Park in Norman, OK to connect  with families.

 

What to expect?

 

A fun 1 mile walk route or a 5K route with developmental obstacles throughout the journey.

 

Take-a-ways

• T-shirt for participants who register by deadline.

• Swag Bag for participants who register by deadline.

• Community resources and provide information and resources on healthy childhood development

• Mental wellness and activities to provide the best home life for adequate growth and development.

 

 

Will there be a virtual option?

There is a virtual option to participate and receive these valuable resources digitally as well.

 

Our Purpose

This event will be called A Child's World to help emphasize the limitless possibilities of today's children. We know together we are transforming futures by championing the potential of children, youth and families through nurturing development, sheltering those in need, and guiding emotional well-being.

 

We will have an interactive component that helps participants prepare for the event with training and healthy development activities regardless of their age. This is not your average 5k because scattered throughout are challenges to test participants skills and teach a little about these development focus areas: gross motor skills, fine motor skills, speech and language skills, cognitive and intellectual skills, and social and emotional skills.
